ANGEL CITY CHORALE -- For over a decade, Emily has performed regularly with this 120-member independent community choir, singing diverse styles such as gospel, folk, pop, classical and world music. Founder-Artistic Director Sue Fink leads this Los Angeles-based "choir with a heart" with dynamic energy and a passion for bringing the City of Angels together. She brilliantly breaks the barrier between the audience and the performer. Angel City Chorale's mission statement is: "Building community - One song at a time." ACC began with just eighteen people in 1993 at McCabe's Guitar Shop in Santa Monica, CA, and today it has an impressive list of credits: The choir has sung with Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross and Mary Chapin Carpenter, Diane Reeves, Michael Buble, and Monica Mancini, Debbie Allen, and The American Tenors. In addition, ACC has released four highly acclaimed CD's.
In spring of 2009, Angel City Chorale released "The Road Home."
Through musical vignettes, this new release explores our
many concepts of home and captures the yearning we feel as we find our way
there. A significant share of the proceeds will benefit
OPCC
to further its work with homeless individuals, battered women and their
children, and people living with mental illness in Los Angeles.
Angel City Chorale will donate a significant share of the
proceeds from the sale of The Road Home to OPCC to further it's work. OPCC
( Opcc.org) is an organization that serves homeless individuals, battered women
and their children, and people living with mental illness in Los Angeles.
OPCC programs provide a wide range of housing,
counseling, and supportive services so individuals and families can rebuild
their lives and return to self-sufficiency. To learn more about The

To name but one example of this commitment to Los Angeles, the choir's annual "Tour of Hope" performances bring holiday music every December to homeless shelters, retirement homes, and other organizations assisting the needy. Some of the places that Angel City Chorale has performed the Tour of Hope concerts are: Union Rescue Mission, Catholic Worker, Nazareth House, Foundation for the Junior Blind, PATH, and LAMP. In December of 2009, Angel City Chorale's Tour of Hope also included a concert at Brentwood Presbyterian Church, where many people in recovery from local agencies were treated to a holiday concert.
